The Little Match Girl

It was cold and it was snowing.
Dark, wet, ice.
A little girl, barefoot, freezing,
walked along the empty streets.
Her tiny feet were blue.

They were poor - her parents evil.
She didn't dare to go home.
No one had bought her matches that she had to sell - every day.

In a corner formed by two houses she seated down and cowered together.
She lit a match and disappeared into a more beautiful world.
She saw her grandma - the only one who loved her.

The match went out and she was back in the cold.
She lit all the matches and her grandma took her in her arms.
The next morning the girl was found,
frozen to death -with a smile on her face.
